Foreclosure on Your Credit Report

March 30th, 2011 8:23 PM by Teresa Molina

How long will a foreclosure stay on a persons credit report?  It will be part of the public records for 10 years.  However, you will not have to wait that long to qualify for a home loan.  Right now you may be able to qualify for an FHA loan after 3 years from a foreclosure and 5-7 years for a conventional loan.  Be sure you ask your loan officer for more information.
